Summer 2017 Russian Courses

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic is pleased to announce that it will offer Intensive First, Second, and Third Year Russian in Summer 2017.


Mid-June to Mid-August


Intensive First- and Second-year Russian: 8:50-10:45 am, 12:05-2:10 pm, Monday-Friday

Intensive Third-year Russian: 8:50-11:50 am, 1:20-3:15 pm, Monday-Thursday

Courses Offered:

 Intensive First-year Russian (Slavic 101-102, 8 credits)
 Intensive Second-year Russian (Slavic 117-118, 8 credits)
 Intensive Third-year Russian (Slavic 279, 8 credits)


Tuition (listed for summer 2016; summer 2017 tuition will be listed once that information becomes available):

Wisconsin Resident: $2,604.00

Minnesota Resident: $3,345.66

Non-Resident: $7,416.42

Students who are not current UW-Madison students must apply to enroll as University Special Students at least one month in advance of the course. See: 

Students with prior experience in Russian should contact Dr. Anna Tumarkin in advance for a placement test.  

Housing may be available for those enrolled in Summer 2017 Russian courses at UW-Madison through the Division of Housing in Merit or Barnard Halls. Summer 2017 housing applications will become available in February. More information is available here:
