Summer 2014 Russian Courses

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Slavic Languages and Literature is pleased to announce that it will offer Intensive First, Second and Third Year Russian in Summer 2014:

Dates: June 16-August 8, 2014
Times: 8:50-10:45 am, 12:05-2:10 pm, Monday-Friday

Tuition and fees for the 8-credit course in the Summer 2014 (est.):
• Wisconsin resident: $2,600.84
• Non-resident: $6,663.26
• Minnesota resident: $3,297.50

Slavic 101 and Slavic 102: Intensive First Year Russian (8 credits)
Slavic 117 and Slavic 118: Intensive Second Year Russian (8 credits)
Slavic 279: Intensive Third Year Russian (8 credits)

Students who are not current UW-Madison students must apply to enroll as University Special Students at least one month in advance of the course. See:

Grads, Med, Law, Vet, UNCS: March 31
Senior, Pharm:     April 1
Juniors, UNIS: April 2
Sophomores: April 3
Freshmen: April 4
Special students: April 7
Guest students: May 19

Students with prior experience in Russian should contact Dr. Anna Tumarkin in advance for a placement test.  

Housing may be available for those enrolled in summer 2014 Russian courses at UW-Madison through the Division of Housing in Merit or Barnard Halls.  The cost for the eight-week session is $1210 for a single and $935 for a double (check in: Sunday, June 15; check out: Saturday, August 9 at noon).  Apply online.>

Project GO at UW-Madison has generous funding for ROTC students (commissioned and participating) to study Russian during Summer 2014. The deadline for Summer 2014 was January 10, 2014.
